Influence of negative "news" on work and private life

Every day, we are confronted with news via a wide variety of channels, many of which contain negative content such as crises, conflicts, etc. This can have a significant impact on our mood and general well-being. This can have a significant impact on our mood and general well-being. But what influence do these daily negative messages have on people's well-being, performance and stress levels? We are investigating these and other questions as part of a ten-day diary study at the Chair of Work, Organizational and Business Psychology in order to find out what influence this phenomenon has on our well-being, performance and stress levels in both a work-related and private context.

  • Study design: Diary study
  • Processing time: Preliminary survey (approx. 20 minutes)
  • Daily surveys on 10 working days (Monday-Friday) with 5 short questionnaires (approx. 3 to 7 minutes) per day
  • Survey period: From 20 February 2024

Our research results will subsequently be published in relevant specialist journals. This will be done in anonymised form. It is not possible to draw any conclusions about you personally.
