Information on final theses

In principle, both empirical and theoretical theses are possible. However, we mainly offer empirical theses. Empirical theses can include the use of quantitative and qualitative methods.

All chairs of the competence area Management and Marketing at the Schumpeter School of Business and Economics have agreed on standardised deadlines for the allocation of places for theses. Please also note the information on the application process below. The following application deadlines apply:

  • Start of the thesis in the winter semester: Deadline ends on June 15th.
  • Start of the thesis in the summer semester: Deadline ends on January 15th.

Some formal requirements are presented separately below:

Length:
(plus cover sheet, table of contents and appendices)

  • Master's thesis (WiWi, Psych.): 60 pages
  • Bachelor's thesis (WiWi, Psych): 40 pages

Layout:

  • Format: DIN A 4
  • Line spacing: 1.5 lines
  • Font type and size: Times New Roman 12pt or Arial 11pt
  • Margins: 2 cm (right, left, top, bottom)
  • Tables and figures: Must be labelled and numbered.

Each element must be referenced at least once in the text.

Submission:
In addition to the printed version, all theses must be submitted in electronic form in the original format (Word (.doc/.docx) or Open Office (.odf)) and in PDF format (.pdf), as random checks for plagiarism are carried out.
